Bangkok...Livin' the royalty life!
I recently went to Bangkok after laos. Since it was only 1000Baht (about Sing$40) from Laos (Udon Thani) to Bangkok, it seemed really silly not to go to Bangkok to stay for a few days. I meet up with Nic and we went from poor peasants slogging for the Singapore Dream... to Living a Fantabulous royalty life in Bangkok. Everything is SO cheap!
Having Japanese Buffet at Grand Oishi restaurant in Siam Discovery for only S$26 per pax. Apart from the usual Sashimi, sushi,and deep fried prawns, they also have Teppanyaki! ...order on demand, they will cook your choice meat (pork, beef, chicken) to tender perfection. (PS sorry no pic on this, t was eaten even before i could grab my cammy!) and they also have cold noodles, Chawan-mushi, Dobin mushi......wash it down with freshly brewed cappuccino and some cakes and tarts.MUST TRY FOR JAPANESE FOOD LOVERS!
Next stop... Mango Tree Restaurant ! serves Authentic Thai food, Five star settings and five star food. However, Nic told me the other time he came (a few months back) it was better. S$40 for 2 persons ! MUST TRY FOR THAI FOOD LOVERS!
Last stop, MK Gold Restaurant in Siam Paragon ! Really really nice Roasted Duck, green noodles and many steamboattable dishes. S$22 for 2 persons. MUST TRY FOR STEAMBOAT LOVERS/BUDGET PEOPLE !!
last but not least...for the cherry on the ice-cream.....
The Beautiful STATE TOWER ! A place you CANT MISS when in Bangkok. Situated at the 64th Floor of the State Tower, The Dome Sirocco is the most beautiful dining experience you can get out for Bangkok...
beautiful views 360 degrees...paying 400Baht (S$16) for a vodka didnt seem too expensive after all. (PS lots of taxi drivers dont really know how to get to the state tower, simply because they dont speak english. we had a tough time getting there too. alternatively you can tell the taxi driver to go to LERDSIN HOSPITAL which is right beside the state tower and just awalk over. It is also called the Lebua hotel.)
Ahhh.....the life of Royalty....ended too soon...
